Stephano Cipo Italy USMLE Step 2 CK Experience
I took my exam yesterday. It wasn’t easy, but not so hard. The most difficult part is the length of the exam, it is hard to stay focused for the entire exam. I had 44 questions in each block, except for the second which had 42 questions. No drug-ads, only 2 abstracts (although one was quite difficult). The questions themselves aren’t difficult, but as for step 1 the are often ambiguous, there are always many confounders in the text and in many cases (maybe most) you cannot be sure about the answer 100%. I found the exam slightly harder than nbme 4 (the only nbme i did). I think UW, although a good study tool, doesn’t resemble the exam questions at all. In UW either you know the answer or you don’t, in the exam as I said answers are almost never sure. Overall I found MTB more useful than UW. There were a few questions on patient safety, which I answered based on common sense but they weren’t easy, a few questions of statistics were pretty hard (in step 1 I had very easy questions for statistics), a lot of preventive, 2 cardiac audio medias (both pretty easy), 2 fetal monitoring tracings, a lot of chest xrays, 2 or 3 ecg (only in one I was in doubt between afib and multifocal atrial tach, the others were easy). I hope for the best (250+) but I wouldn’t be surprised if I scored 220 or 270. If you have any questions feel free to ask.
UPDATE: Just recieved my score: 268
