Cardiologist Francisco José Romeo’s – USMLE Step 2 CK Experience

Hi everyone, I received my score report yesterday and wanted to share my brief experience.

First of all, I am a 32 year old cardiologist, finishing my last year of Interventional Cardiology in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I did 1-year of translational clinical research at VCU, Richmond, VA in 2016-2017. I´m aiming an Internal medicine residency and then continue with cardiovascular field in USA.

My numbers:

Step 1: 10/2018: 229

Now Step 2 CK: Real deal: 231. I took 4 months of prep working in parallel with my fellowship so I mostly studied during weekends.

For prep I just used Uw and some NBME offline testing. Also I paid a quick read to USMLE STEP 2 SECRETS and STEP UP to USMLE Step 2 CK.

First round UW (online) 63 %. Second round (online) I just did 30% from overall, around 80%.

NBME 6 (offline)=246

NBME 7 (offline)=225

Uworld SA 1= 248 (1.5 months before)

Uworld SA 2=240 (1 week before exam)

Exam hints: The exam is tough and quite long. Sleep tight. Don´t desperate. Keep hydrated. There are lot of clinical practice questions, and of course you need to remember clinical algorithms.

Any questions will be my pleasure to guide you! This group help me a lot!
